Hello, I am Tony Lee and I hope you have enjoy looking around my Kerry website. I live in Tennessee and am married and have 3 kids. I have a roofing company and like to fish and hunt in my spare time when I'm not going to ball games with the kids or roofing to support my collecting habits.
I began watching nascar racing in 94-95 and immediately started pulling for the Man in Black. Partly because my friends that got me watching racing liked him, but mainly because I liked his driving style and his personality. I mean he was The Intimidator, Ironhead, The Man in Black and of course several other names I wouldn't care to print.
I guess he was a man you either loved or you hated. In 95 I began collecting everything I could find of Dale's. I had everything from mom & pops ham bags, standups, diecast, bears, anything that had Dale or a #3 on it. I bought. But after a while, there was so much stuff out there that I settled on trying to get one of all of his trading cards made. I was featured as the Beckett Racing supercollector in October of 2002 with my Dale Earnhardt collection of trading cards and race used memorabilia.
I bought every trading card box made that had Dale in it and between trading my inserts of other drivers and buying alot of the cards, I had a really good collection going. Besides collecting his trading cards, I purchased a few race used sheetmetal pieces from Dale's cars.
I got the opportunity to meet Dale twice in my life. I purchased a rear quarter panel off of his car at a charity auction and along with the purchase came 2 back stage passes to meet Dale at a meet and greet session in September of 1998 in Nashville at the Municipal Auditorium.
While backstage, Dale autographed my sheetmetal for me and I actually got to chat with him for a couple minutes and shake his hand while we were being televised for the local news. On Janurary 19th 2001, I would get another chance to meet Dale at a card show in Murfreesboro, TN where he autographed a b post off of Dale Jr's rookie Budweiser car. Less than a month later, Dale was taken from this life.
In 2002, when the trading card companies and the diecast companies kept producing and selling Dale cards and diecast, I deceided to get out of collecting Dale's thing and turn my interest elsewhere.
Kerry had made several starts and wins in arca, and ran a couple years in Busch, so I deceided I would start collecting Kerry trading cards, presskits and postcards. I had most of Kerry's trading cards already in my DE collection, so I had a good head start. I have a pretty good collection going now of Kerry Earnhardt and hope some of you may be able to add to it or let me know if there are items out there I may have missed.
On my Kerry trading card checklist, postcard and presskits pages, I have pictures of each item and a brief description of each item. If you have or know of something related to these pages I do not have listed, please email me the information and a picture if possible so I can add it to my checklists and try to find one for myself.
I am not collecting everything of Kerry's, but I am religiously seeking any trading cards, postcards, presskits and any advertising items out there of Kerry's. If you can help, email and maybe we can work a trade or if need be, buy the item. I hope you have found this site informative on the Kerry items I chose to collect and be sure to check out my Kerry collection pages to see what I have collected over the years.
Thanks for visiting and please come back, Tony Lee
